This exceptional cycling holiday invites you to visit the three great Alsatian capitals: Strasbourg, Colmar and Mulhouse.

Day 1 : Arrival in Colmar

Arrival in the Alsatian town of Colmar and installation in your hotel. Take the opportunity to discover the capital of Alsace wines, its little Venice, which is home to canals and the fishmonger's quay and its colorful half-timbered houses. Colmar is also a paradise for gourmets, you can enjoy a good Alsatian meal in a restaurant. Also find good local things by strolling through its covered market.

Day 2 : A loop through the famous wine villages ≈ 60 or 45 km

You will leave Colmar heading north. After Houssen you go to the vineyard near Ribeauvillé. Your loop today takes you to discover wine-growing villages such as Riquewihr, Turckheim, Eguisheim.

Day 3 : Colmar - Munster ≈ 45 km

From Colmar, take the direction of the valley of Munster by Turckheim and Zimmerbach. Rounded tops, high stubble, steep slopes and glacial lakes make up the varied landscape of the Munster valley, one of the most beautiful in the Vosges mountains. The town of Munster is famous for its cheese of the same name which is produced in the green valley around the town. It is of course one of the gastronomic delights of Alsace. Return to Colmar by the cycle path that winds through the valley.

Day 4 : Breisach am Rhein ≈ 70 km

This stage is devoted to the discovery of the villages of the Rhine valley. You will reach Neuf-Brisach, a town fortified by Vauban in the 19th century. You will then cross the Rhine to reach Breisach am Rhein in Germany. The Rhine Canal cycle path takes you to Marckolsheim on the French bank of the Rhine. Here you can visit a fortified work of the Maginot Line. Return to Colmar by the canal cycle path.

Day 5 : Colmar - Guebwiller - Mulhouse ≈ 50/80 km + return by train

From Colmar, you will follow the south of the Alsace Wine Route to Guebwiller. You can then go to Bollwiller to take a train or continue driving to Ungersheim to visit the Alsace Ecomuseum. From there, the cycle path will lead you directly to Mulhouse. Return by train to Colmar.

Day 6 : Strasbourg ≈ 25 km

You join Strasbourg by the regional train with your bike. You then take the cycle path of the Rhône-Rhine canal from Erstein to Strasbourg (25 km).
A train leaves Colmar in the direction of Strasbourg every 1⁄2 hour.
