 
Day 1 - Arrival in Tonnerre and ride to Ancy le Franc / Chassignelles - 35 Km
In the morning, you will be welcomed in Tonnerre, you will get the bikes and leave for the first ride. This journey will lead you to the splendid Renaissance castle of Tanlay. You may stop and visit it or go on to the magnificent valley of Quincy Abbey for a visit with Maud. The next stage will lead you to another Renaissance building in Ancy le Franc. Enjoy this place and let them tell you its history, possible guided visit. (last guided visit 4 PM or 5 PM depending on the season)

Day 2 - From Ancy le Franc to Montbard - 25 Km
After breakfast, you will ride to the East toward Montbard. On the way, you will discover the "Big Forge" of Buffon and other quite unknown wonders like mills, wash-houses, churches, castles... in Aisy, Rougemont. You arrive soon, you advice you to visit the Cistercian Abbey of Fontenay which is a very nice and quiet place to end the the day.

Day 3 - Loop route around Montbard
Free day or loop route around Montbard. There is much to be discovered by bike in this area : Flavigny-sur-ozerain, Alésia, Bussy-Rabutin, Semur-en-auxois ... Some hills in this journey but a stage rich in heritage. For those who don't like hills, you may enjoy the aquatic center of Montabard !

Day 4 - From Montbard to Port Royal - 35 Km
There, the Burgundy canal quits the Brenne Valley to go up slowly to its sharing section. It is the Pouillenay scale, 37 locks over 12 kms : a real ordeal for bargees ! For cyclists, an increased chance to see the fascinating lock show. On a cultural level, a second chance to visit the site avoided the day before for those who chose the swimming pool !
On the way, you will discover the fortified castle of Arigny le Cahouët (XII th).
At night, you will enjoy the peace and quiet of your guest bedroom along Burgundy Canal. A beautiful house which has been built at the same time as the Canal. An enchanting place ! Dinner on-site.
Day 5 - From Pont Royal to Crugey - 33 Km
You will get into Auxois area and its hedge farmland. You will discover its treasures : St Thibault Collegiate, Eguilly Castle, the roof in Pouilly (there the Burgundy Canal is underground), the village of Châteauneuf and its castle, Commarin castle. You won't be able to visit every place !

Day 6 - From Crugey to Dijon - 43 Km
You will ride to the widest part of Burgundy canal : the Ouche Valley. A narrow and winding jag in the Burgundian limestone. In those perpendicular valleys, some treasures are hidden : Barbirey castle, Bussière Abbey...
Then, you will get back to civilisation, reaching Dijon by the Kir Lake. Welcome in the capital of Burgundy Dukes and gastronomy.
End of the tour and return by train to Tonnerre (6 trains between 3 PM and 9 PM - 1h10 journey)
