Day 1 : Arrival in Bordeaux and transfer to Pian Médoc

Arrival in Pian Médoc, settling at the hotel, bike and roadbook collect.
Dinner and night in Pian du Médoc.

Day 2 : From Pian Médoc to Moulis or Listrac - 40 km
Leaving Pian Médoc, you will ride along the Gironde river passing by Margaux, Saint-Estèphe, Moulis... Stop there for a tasting ! This "route of the Castles" goes across Médoc and it is for sure one of the most beautiful ones ! This journey will lead you in the heart of the "Red Médoc"

Dinner and night in Moulis or Listrac

Day 3 : From Moulis or Listrac to Saint-Yzans - 53 km

Leaving Moulis or Listrac for a ride through famous vineyards. From Latour to Lafite Rothschild, the names of the castles are prestigious. You will also discover Médoc history riding through places such as the archaeological site of Brion in Saint Germain d'Esteuil, Castéra Castle, Vertheuil abbey church and the Médoc Fort built by Vauban. 

Dinner and night in Saint-Yzans.

Day 4 : From Saint-Yzans to Royan -  55 to 60 km

You will ride along the estuary in the wilder Médoc, where migratory fishes and birds find a sanctuary. We advice you to stop in Saint-Christoly or La Maréchale, little ports full of charms with their old beached boats. The lighthouse of Richard offers a very beautiful point of view on the estuary. You will continue to the extreme end of Médoc, passing through Soulac between pine trees and sandy beaches. You will cross the estuary with a ferry boat. On the boat, you will enjoy a splendid overview on Royan, Cordouan lighthouse and Meschers cliffs.

Day 5 : From Royan to Mortagne-sur-Gironde - 35 km

Royan area offers an infinite variety of landscapes for the enjoyment of the riders. Pine forest, marsh, rocky coast, cliffs, picturesque ports and oyster-farming villages. Don't miss the craft-village of Talmont-sur-Gironde, the cave dwelling in Meschers-sur-Gironde, the archaeological site of Fâ and the monolith hermitage of Saint-Martial. You may visit wine storehouses of Mortagne to know everything about Pineau, Cognac and Charentes wines.

Day 6 : From Mortagne-sur-Gironde to Soubran - 35 to 40 km

You will ride away from the estuary to discover the castles producing Cognac and Pineau such as St-Dizant-du-Gua. Following the hills covered by vineyards and cereals, you will have an impression of wildness, immensity and tranquility  before reaching Bordeaux vineyards of Côtes de Blaye.
Dinner and night in Soubran.

Day 7 : From Soubran to Bourg-sur-Gironde - 50 à 60 km

Taking little roads through the marshes, you will get back on the estuary to discover Blaye and its famous citadel built by Vauban. Finally, you will head towards Bourg- sur-Gironde, riding along the "flowered cliff". If you are fascinated by old buildings don't miss visiting Bourg sur Gironde that is an architectural jewel. Hooked on its rock, encircled by great walls, the village is one of the most beautiful and best preserved villages of the estuary

Day 8 : Bourg-sur-Gironde - End of the tour
End of the tour after breakfast, transfer to Saint André de Cubzac.

Return to Bordeaux by train (option)
