 
Day 1 - Arrival in Auxerre
Arrival in Auxerre in the afternoon, settling at the hotel.
Night in Auxerre with breakfast.
Day 2 - Auxerre to Moulins-Engilbert - 38 Km
At 9 AM, welcome in Auxerre, you will get the bikes and transfer by bus to the starting point of your journey : Decize, the Southern gate of the Canal. This ride will lead you to Moulins-Engilbert, which is the cradle of Charolais breeding. On the way, you will discover the meadows and their quiet beasts (white oxen), Verneuil church, Cercy La Tour roman church and Vendenesse castle.

Day 3 - From Moulins-Engilbert to Corbigny - 57 Km
During this magnificent stage, after visiting the cattle market and the gardens of Limanton and Chatillon en Bazoix castle, you will ride up to the sharing section of the canal, which is the high point of the Nivernais Canal.
You will be in the heart of a wonderful hydraulic machine (ponds, vaults and rivulets) that helps the Canal crossing mountains. This system dates from the 18th century, it is made of gentle slopes and stagnant waters. It seems it has been there forever. You will enjoy Baye and Vaux ponds, their ornithological tracks, Collancelle vaults where Nivernais Canal disapears. You will gently slope down to Sardy scale and Corbigny to end this journey.

Day 4 - From Corbigny to Clamecy - 40 Km
From now on, the Nivernais Canal plays hide and seek with Yonne River. You will either one or the other, then in the middle of pastures, you will discover a vineyard : Tannay, famous for its Melon. A grape variety to be discovered ! The last kilometers between Tannay and Clamedy shies away from the Canal. That's how, you will discover nice villages and the fossil meander of Chevroches. In Clamecy, you may visit the old town and its Collegiate dedicated to St Martin, Romain Roland museum and the wood floating.

Day 5 -From Clamecy to Accolay - 47 Km
Riding on the wood-train road, you will wind between Coral Reef remains (100 million years old) : Surgy cliffs, Saussois Rocks and Mailly le Château ledge. You will also discover the fortified farm of Basseville, Faulin and Châter-Censoir castles and it medieval burg perched on a hill.

Day 6 - From Accolay to Auxerre - 28 Km
You will leave the green meadows where Charolais graze, to enter Auxerre vineyard with its magnificent vintner village : Irancy. You must stop for a tasting in this Property ! Unless that you prefer to stop in Bailly caves. Those caves were built in an old stone quarry next to the river.
