Day 1 - Arrival in Mira

Settling at the hotel, you may go for a first exploration.

Vagos

With its white houses, its churches and Il Havo where is a porcelain factory. You will ride through little villages with beautiful modern houses and some older ones with their fronts covered with azulejos from the beginning of the century. Some houses are very beautiful, with modern art and art Deco patterns.
 
Aveiro

The "Venice of Portugal" is surrounded by salterns, beaches and lagoons. Aveiro is dominated by the Central Canal that crosses the city. It is famous for its "moliceiros" : typical fishing boats with a bright colorful bow. During centuries, the city has been a thriving port.
 

Figueira da Foz

Then you will ride South toward Cantanhed and Figueira da Foz with its marina, the fort, the monastery, the museums and the typical churches of Portugal.  Figueira is a very famous sea resort, located on the mouth of Mondego river and downwind on the North by the green hills of the Serra de Boa Viagem. To get there, you must follow the avenue that runs along the beach, cross the old fishing village of Buarcos and climb up to the lighthouse of Cabo Mondego.
