Provence is a land of light, colors and smells. A land bathed in sunshine almost all year round. This place has attracted many artists with its warmth and beauty. You will discover during this trip a cultural region in its own right: Avignon and its Papal Palace, the Roman ruins of Orange, Vaison la Romaine.
This route takes you through the lavender fields and small villages of the Luberon, in exceptional natural and cultural sites.
Finally, we must mention the quality of wine and food. During this trip you will discover the good food of Provence and their Mediterranean flavor.
Day 1: Avignon
Arrival in Avignon. Relax at the hotel.
Day 2: Avignon - Orange, approx. 24 miles
Meeting at the hotel reception at around 09.30 a.m. for more explanations on the tour and distribution of
bikes - if rented.
From Avignon to Villeneuve-lès-Avignon and then along the Rhône river to Roquemaure. You cross the Rhône
and arrive in Orange. Hotel ***.
Day 3: Orange - Vaison-la-Romaine, approx. 27 miles
Today you ride through the wine yards of the Côtes du Rhône and cross typical villages such as Sérignan, Ste
Cécile les Vignes, St. Roman de Malegarde and Villedieu before you arrive in Vaison la Romaine, lovely roman
and medieval town. Hotel ** in the centre.
Day 4: Vaison la Romaine - Isle-sur-Sorgue, approx. 33 miles
Either: You continue riding through the wine yards of the Côtes du Rhône and cross wine villages such as
Rasteau, Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Sarrans on little roads and paths.
Or: Very spectacular: (only possible from 15 May to 15 September) you go up to the top of Mont
Ventoux (1909 m) by van and then cycle 50 km down through the lavender fields around Sault and further
down to the Lubéron-Valley (€ 30 surcharge per person). An unforgettable highlight!
Arrival in Isle sur Sorgues, called the Venice of the Provence due to its many little rivers with clean water.

Day 5: Isle-sur-Sorgue - Lubéron, approx. 24-36 miles
You stay in the region to explore this beautiful valley. The village of Gordes and its famous Vasarely, the Cistercian abbey of Sénanque surrounded by lavender fields (sports). And
the Ocre rocks near the lovely village of Roussillon which have given the so typical colours to the Provence.
Back to the hotel *** in Isle sur Sorgue.
Day 6: Isle-sur-Sorgue - Avignon, approx.21 miles
On little roads and along the Durance river back to Avignon where you can visit the historical centre and the
Papal Palace (World Patrimony). Night in the hotel in Avignon.
Day 7:
End of the Tour or extra night in Avignon.
