Day 1: arrival in Strasbourg

Check into your hotel. Enjoy your first day to admire the sumptuous Gothic cathedral or stroll through the historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Overnight in Strasbourg.

 

Day 2: From Strasbourg to Obernai (40 km)

This Alsace bike trip begins along the Bruche Canal. Cycle along the peaceful cycle path towards the famous vineyards. Along the way, Molsheim is a charming typical village with an authentic atmosphere, as is Obernai, the first stop of your journey.

Overnight in Obernai.

 

Day 3: From Obernai to Andlau (15 km)

Today, your itinerary takes you through the vineyards of Obernai, passing by Mittelbergheim to reach Andlau. Take the opportunity to enjoy a tasting of local wines at one of the cellars you encounter along the way. In Gertwiller, the gingerbread museum is a delight for food lovers of all ages.

Day 4: From Andlau to Saint Hippolyte (25 km)

This stage allows you to appreciate the splendor of the Alsacian vineyards. In Kintzheim, take the shuttle that brings you to the Montagne des Singes, a 24-hectare reserve where 200 Barbary macaques live in freedom. Nearby, the Volerie des Aigles invites you to admire a breathtaking show of birds of prey in the enchanting setting of the ruins of a 13th-century fortified castle. The same shuttle can also take you to Haut-Koenigsbourg. A visit to this medieval castle, fully restored and perched on a Vosges peak, immerses yourself in the fascinating Middle Ages. Enjoy a breathtaking view of the Alsace plain.

Overnight in Saint Hippolyte.

 

Day 5: from Saint Hippolyte to Kaysersberg (20 km)

Today, discover villages with unique charm, Bergheim, voted "Favorite Village of the French" in the summer 2022. On the way, don't miss Ribeauvillé and its famous Daniel Stoeffel chocolate factory, which offers tasting and creation workshops. In Hunawihr, the NaturOparc is an essential stopover : this animal park, committed for over 40 years to preserving local biodiversity, welcomes you in a green setting. You will discover emblematic species of the region, such as the white stork, the European otter, and the common hamster, in a fun and educational setting.

Overnight in Kayserberg.

 

Day 6: from Kaysersberg to Eguisheim (20 km)

Take the time to feel the enchanting atmosphere of Kaysersberg before continuing your adventure. The cycle path then takes you to Eguisheim, voted "Favorite Village of the French" in 2013. On the way, a stop at the Alsace Vineyard and Wine Museum in Kientzheim is highly recommended. Located in the prestigious setting of the Saint-Etienne brotherhood castle, this museum invites you to discover wine-growing traditions and the evolution of the winegrower's profession over the centuries.

Overnight in Eguisheim

 

Day 7: from Eguisheim to Colmar (20 km)

This stage leads you from Eguisheim to Colmar, where you can stroll through the remarkably preserved historic centre. Vary the pleasures by boarding a flat-bottomed boat to explore the picturesque "Little Venice" district in an original way. You also have the opportunity to visit the Unterlinden Museum, which contains one of the jewels of Western art: the Isenheim altarpiece.

Overnight in Colmar

 

Day 8: Colmar

End of the tour after breakfast. If you wish to extend your stay, additional nights are bookable in Colmar or Strasbourg.

Meals:

  • Breakfasts: buffet (coffee, tea, chocolate, milk, butter, bread, jam, orange juice)
  • Lunches: not included
  • Dinners: not included

 

The Bike:

  • Rental bike: 21-speed bike or ebike equipped with panniers, repair kit and lock. Rental bikes will be delivered to the first hotel. At the end of the tour, please leave the bike at your last hotel and inform reception. We will take care of its return.  
  • Personal bikes: we do not recommend bikes with small tires. Mountain and hybrid bikes are excellent. Please check your bike before departure. You will be responsible for your own bike at the end of the tour. 

 

Assistance:

7 days a week assistance (except punctures, which are not covered).

 

Luggage:

Luggage is transported by courier and limited to one piece per person (maximum 20 kg).

 

Roadbook: 

You will receive your roadbook with luggage tags by mail before your departure. If you have chosen the roadbook option, you will receive your documents at your first hotel.

 

Transport:

  • By train: Strasbourg train station
  • By road: Strasbourg is 500 km east of Paris
  • By plane: Strasbourg airport or Karlsruhe Baden-Baden (60 km) airport or Mulhouse/Bâle airport (120 km)
