This cycling holiday in the Netherlands starts and ends in Amsterdam, city of canals, parks and bikes! Its town center and its architecture dating from the 17th century are worth a detour, it is the perfect place for cyclists ! Leaving Amsterdam, you cross the picturesque Dutch landscape and its splendid views with its windmills on the cycle paths. You will also have the opportunity to visit the most authentic places in the west of the Netherlands and learn all about its history.

Day 1: Arrival in Amsterdam

From this first day, start with a bike tour of Amsterdam, to discover its streets, cafes and moments. Crossing the banks of the IJsselmeer, you will leave the city to discover the countryside around the Zuiderzee, and explore its typical villages as well as its woods, rivers and lakes.

Day 2 : Volendam - Katwoude - 44 km

Go for a bike ride to the village of Volendam to dive back 100 years! It is known for its pretty harbor, the fishing trade, its authentic Dutch character, and its traditional costumes. A fantastic destination every season! Continue your journey by bike from village to village like Katwoude. Stroll through its cozy streets and take the opportunity to have a little coffee. Then join Zaandam.

Day 3 : Zaandam - 46 km

From Zaandam, head towards Haarlem. Its historic city center, surrounded by canals, is littered with old streets and monuments dating from the 16th to the 19th century. Then you will cross the dunes to the seaside resort of Noordwijk or Katwijk.

Day 4 : Noordwijk aan Zee - 49 km

This Holland bike tour takes you back to Amsterdam via the Bollenstreek, this is where you can admire blooming tulips, daffodils and hyacinths as far as the eye can see.

Day 5 : Amsterdam - 55 km

On the last day you will follow the Amstel river back to Amsterdam. Take the opportunity to admire the neighborhoods of the city center dating from the end of the 19th century, with its beautiful architectural buildings.

Day 6 : End of your cycling trip in the Netherlands

Departure from Amsterdam or extra night.

Technicality :

Cycling: 19 to 51 km per day or 1 to 4 hours of cycling.
Circuit with national signs of the Netherlands, map reading desired.

The bike :

- Rental bike: VTC with 24 speeds or Tradition Bike with 8 speeds. If you rent a bicycle, it will be given to you upon arrival. It is also included: bag, lock and card holder. At the end of the tour, you will need to leave this bike at the hotel and notify reception.
 
- Personal bike: We do not recommend bikes with small tires. Hybrid bikes and mountain bikes are excellent. Remember to check your bicycle before setting off. At the end of your tour, you will need to pick up your bike.
 
Assistance :

- Assistance in the event of a breakdown (except for punctures for which we do not intervene).
 
Roadbook :

We will provide you with detailed maps and a description of the routes, sent to your home before departure. We will also give you the vouchers for the hotel and the restaurant.
 
Transport :

- By car: Amsterdam is 500 km north of Paris.
- By plane: International airport in Amsterdam (Schiphol).
