The Danube valley by bike, from Passau to Vienna
The Danube Valley is an exceptional route for cyclists. Between Passau and Vienna, you are on Eurovelo 6, a fully marked European cycle route with wide cycle paths. Take the time to admire the landscapes around this majestic river and learn about the historical and cultural heritages of Austria and Germany.

Day 1: arrival in Passau
Individual arrival in Passau. Delivery of travel log and bicycles (if reserved).
Take the opportunity to discover the city, its cathedral and its castle. It is recommended to take a boat trip on the Danube (runs daily, every 30 minutes, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for approx. €10.00 per person payable on site).

Day 2: Passau to Schlögen/Wesenufer - 40 km
After enjoying the beauty of Passau, set off on a fabulous discovery of the Danube Valley. Only a few kilometers of secondary roads and you will appreciate the cycle path which will take you on an unforgettable journey along the river, always far from any car traffic to the famous Schlögener Danube loop. Passing Obernzell and Engelhartszell, you cycle along the river.
Night in Schlögen or Wesenufer.
Day 3: from Schlögen/Wesenufer to Linz - 56 km
You continue your bike ride on Eurovelo 6 on old towpaths. You will appreciate the villages of Aschbach and Ottensheim, the old fish markets, and their antique houses. On both sides of the Danube, there are castles and monasteries to visit. Your stage ends in Linz, the capital of Upper Austria.

Day 4: Linz to Wallsee - 42 km
The Danube Cycle Path takes you today to the Machland region. You pass the imposing Abwinden hydroelectric power station to reach Mauthausen. A few kilometers further, you see Wallsee, your stopover for the night, with its magnificent castle on the banks of the Danube.

Day 5: from Wallsee to Marbach/Maria Taferl - 56 km
Pedal through the heart of the Strudengau region. The route is charming and romantic on this portion. Authentic villages like Grein provide a complete change of scenery, and the landscapes are sumptuous. Maria Taferl is Austria's second largest pilgrimage destination.
Night in Marbach or Maria Taferl.
Day 6: from Marbach or Maria Taferl to Krems or Traismauer - 51/66 Km
Discover a new aspect of this wonderful cycling route as you cross the vineyards. You have to deviate a little from the Danube to appreciate the local wine. You then cross the villages of Spitz, Weißenkirchen to Krems or Traismauer.
Night in Krems or Traismauer.
Day 7: From Krems or Traismauer to Vienna - 59 to 74 km
Via the flower town of Tulln you reach Höflein. Vienna offers you numerous and prestigious monuments, a city steeped in history, once the cultural capital of Europe, a multifaceted city which shows closeness to Hungary.
From Tulln, you can take the train (around €10) to Vienna.

Day 8: Vienna
End of your stay in the Danube Valley after breakfast. Optional return transfer to Passau.
