From Rennes to Mont Saint Michel via Saint-Malo, Northern Brittany by bike

Starting from the capital of Brittany, cycle along pretty cycle paths and discover charming Breton villages, medieval cities and the magnificent Emerald Coast before reaching Mont-Saint-Michel. Between Land and Sea, this circuit is accessible to most people and takes place in a very special atmosphere, that of old mystical stones and Breton legends.

Day 1: Rennes
Settle into your accommodation located in the city centre of the Breton capital. Take a walk to enjoy the medieval ramparts still visible at the Portes Mordelaises, to admire the Parliament of Brittany, the Thabor park or the half-timbered houses.

Day 2: from Rennes to Hédé (44 km / +285 m)
This cycling holiday in Brittany begins on a towpath. You pedal along a bucolic and shaded route along the canal until you reach the Guipel ponds and then Hédé and its 11 flower-filled locks.

Day 3: from Hédé to Dinan (40 km / +260 m)
On a beautiful greenway, the route continues through Tinténiac and the Evran ponds. The magnificent Léhon Abbey welcomes you at the entrance to Dinan. This medieval town is surrounded by ramparts, houses beautiful half-timbered houses and has a unique atmosphere. It is pleasant to stroll through the cobbled streets or stroll along the Rance.

Day 4: from Dinan to Saint-Malo (25 km / + 120 m)
First break towards the sea: the charming village of Taden, which dates back to prehistoric times. You then ride on an old railway line to reach Dinard, a pretty seaside resort with its "Belle Époque" villas. Arrival in Saint-Malo, located on the other side of the Rance estuary, thanks to the water bus. Its old town, surrounded by high granite ramparts, is worth the detour. Formerly a bastion of corsairs (pirates approved by the King), the town has been preserved and has a rich Romanesque and Gothic architecture. Visit the cathedral, which is a fine example of this and whose stained glass windows tell the story of the town.

Day 5: from Saint-Malo to Cancale (25 km / + 190 m)
No need to rush today, the stage is short. Enjoy Saint-Malo one last time before cycling along the Emerald Coast. This part of the Breton coast is characterized by beautiful sandy beaches, a wild coastline and spectacular headlands such as the Pointes de Grouin, Meinga or Anse Duguesclin. In the afternoon, you reach Cancale, whose oysters are famous for their delicious salty taste.

Day 6: from Cancale to Mont-Saint-Michel (44 km / + 70m)
Cycle through the polders and the immense plain of salt meadows where farmed sheep graze peacefully before reaching the true wonder that is Mont-Saint-Michel. Night near Mont-Saint-Michel (2.4).

Day 7: Mont-Saint-Michel
End of your cycling holiday in Brittany after breakfast. Possibility of additional night(s). Mont Saint Michel is only a 35-minute walk away. Enjoy your free time to climb and visit this wonder.

The bike:

• Rental bike: VTC or Electric Bike, delivered to the first hotel. Equipped with a handlebar bag, a map holder, a bottle holder, a repair kit, a lock and a helmet.
• Personal bike: we do not recommend bikes with small tires. VTCs and mountain bikes are excellent. Remember to service your bike before leaving. At the end of the tour, you will have to take care of your own bike.

Assistance:
Our team is available to help you, except in the event of a puncture for which we do not intervene.

Luggage:
They are transported by a courier or by our team and limited to one piece of luggage per person (max 13 kg).

• By train: Rennes train station well served
• By road: Rennes is 350 km from Paris (about 4 hours)
• Return to the starting point: bus from La Caserne to Rennes or train from Pontorson.
