Northern Corsica by Bike from Bastia
Day 1: Bastia
Arrival in Bastia. Check into your hotel before exploring the town. Stroll through the narrow streets, walk along the quays of the old port, and climb up to the citadel.
Overnight in Bastia.
Day 2: From Bastia to Sisco (16 or 27 km / +130m or +417m)
Hit the saddle and head north. We recommend a first stop in Erbalunga. This former fishing village is absolutely charming, and you'll spot the first Genoese tower of the journey. Its stone houses and narrow streets create an authentic atmosphere that makes you want to linger. Continue on the road to Sico.
Overnight in Sisco.
Day 3: From Sisco to Macinaggio (22 or 38 km / +164 m or +444 m)
This stage begins on a road that runs along the sea. Enjoy the remarkable panoramas offered by the Isle of Beauty. There are plenty of swimming breaks to take in one of the wild coves you'll encounter along the way. Don't forget to pack your swimsuit before setting off. Your ride ends in Macinaggio. There's a pretty marina here, and this is where the famous customs officers' trail begins.
Overnight in Macinaggio.
Day 4: From Macinaggio to Albo (50 or 57 km / +818 m or +1014 m)
Today, you'll discover an even wilder part of Cap Corse by bike. The day begins with an ascent of a small pass with a reward at the end: a beautiful panorama of the tip of Cap Corse and the island of Giraglia. You are now on the western side of the cape. If you're a fan of lobster and seafood, make a detour to Centuri, famous for its seafood restaurants. The route continues along roads that wind along the mountainside, offering views each more beautiful than the last.
Overnight in Albo.
Day 5: From Albo to Saint-Florent (24 or 42 km / + 300m or + 853m)
Continuing south, you reach Nonza beach, quite unique with its black pebbles. Then, you visit the Paoline Tower, perched high and overlooking both the sea and the picturesque village of Nonza. From there, the landscape begins to change. Limestone replaces granite, and vineyards appear. You arrive in Saint-Florent, a town nicknamed "the Saint-Tropez of Corsica." Visit the Citadel, stroll around the harbor, and walk through the lively shopping streets.
Overnight in Saint-Florent.
Day 6: From Saint-Florent to Bastia (23 or 57 km / + 572 m or + 1,175 m)
This final leg takes you back to Bastia, the prefecture of Haute-Corse. En route, you pass through the village of Patrimonio, famous for its vineyards. Next, you'll tackle the Col de Teghime, 536 meters above sea level. Here again, a wonderful reward awaits: a remarkable view of the Désert des Agriates and the Gulf of Saint-Florent. After the climb... the descent. It's mainly by "diving towards the sea" that you reach Bastia and the Mediterranean.
Overnight in Bastia.
Day 7: Bastia
End of the tour after breakfast. Extend your cycling holiday in Corsica with an extra night.
