Brittany is brimming with treasures and legends to discover or rediscover. At La Bicyclette Verte, we believe that cycling is the best way to truly experience Brittany. Whether along the coast or inland, you'll often need to stop and dismount to enjoy a beautiful panorama, stroll through an authentic village, savor a crêpe, or visit a magnificent monument. From the Pink Granite Coast to the Gulf of Morbihan, via the Nantes-Brest Canal or Mont-Saint-Michel, we offer a curated selection of cycling holidays in Brittany to help you find your perfect getaway.

The best time to discover Brittany by bike is from April to October. Spring arrives quite early in the region, and generally speaking, Brittany enjoys mild temperatures all year round. The Gulf of Morbihan benefits from a microclimate and enjoys more than 2,000 hours of sunshine per year (1,500 hours for Brest by comparison).
It's difficult to say, as there are so many magnificent landscapes in Brittany. If you love seascapes, lighthouses, and sea spray, we recommend cycling the Pink Granite Coast or the Vélomaritime. Both of these routes keep you close to the coast and the sea. Cycling in the Gulf of Morbihan offers a beautiful diversity: isolated islands, oyster farms, peninsulas, rias, marshes, and unspoiled wilderness areas. If you prefer peaceful routes and want to explore inland, a trip along the Nantes-Brest Canal or between Rennes and Saint-Malo should suit you perfectly. Brittany is a paradise for cyclists (and hikers)!
This is a frequently asked question. It is not possible to cycle the GR34, and there is no exact equivalent cycling route. However, some routes like the Vélomaritime or La Littorale are the closest thing to a "GR34 by bike."
Brittany is a hilly region with many hills, even along the coast. Nothing insurmountable in general, and renting an electric bike will win over those who hate hills!

A refreshing, accessible, and invigorating seaside adventure, ideal for succumbing to the wild charm of the Breton coastline.
Explore Brittany by bike on a 7-day getaway along the Vélomaritime between Roscoff and Paimpol. This invigorating journey takes you from the picturesque ports of Finistère to the turquoise coves of Côtes-d'Armor. Along the way, let yourself be captivated by the Bay of Morlaix, the spectacular pink granite formations, and the charm of Tréguier. A gentle route, between land and sea, where each stop tells a legend. Let yourself be carried away by the magic.
We invite you to discover Brittany by bike along its most famous canal: the Nantes-Brest Canal. Brittany has always inspired dreams and wonder. Discover the legends of this region with its strong and unique identity as you cycle along the shores of Lake Guerlédan or through the medieval town of Josselin. We've taken some liberties to venture off the Canal when it seemed appropriate. Cycle between Redon and Quimper. You'll have the opportunity to visit Pontivy, Glomel, Carhaix, or even Châteauneuf-du-Faou while enjoying the wind in your hair.
Did you know? The Nantes-Brest Canal and the Vélodyssée share a common route between Carhaix and Nantes! Interested in the Vélodyssée? Check out our cycling holidays along the Vélodyssée: learn more.
