Holland by bike, loop circuit around Utrecht

This cycling trip will take you into the green heart of the Netherlands, a typical Dutch nature area. In this region of Holland, nature is protected. You will enjoy the tranquility of the charming Dutch countryside admiring cows, villages and visiting traditional mills and farms. Your cycle route begins and ends in the city of Utrecht, renowned as one of the most bicycle-friendly cities.

Day 1 : Utrecht - Amelisweerd and Rhijnauwen - 21 km

Start your stay with a visit to the pretty city center of Utrecht on a short but attractive bike tour! It is a charming city, crossed by many canals, which is sure to remind us of Amsterdam, but without the influx of tourists! Enjoy the historic center by going along the canals.

Day 2 : Utrecht to Weesp/Muiderberg - 38 to 42 km

After your first night in Utrecht, you will follow the banks of the Vecht through the pretty villages of Maarssen, Breukelen, Loenen, Vreeland en Nigtevecht! These traditional villages perfectly reflect Dutch culture. In the picturesque village of Oud-Zuilen, you can visit a castle that dates from the Middle Ages (not included) ! Your hotel is located in the heart of the historic town of Weesp or in Muiderberg.

Day 3: Muiderberg/Weesp to Nieuwkoop - 50 to 59 km

Walk along the Little Gein River through the rural area of ​​southern Amsterdam. You can admire windmills to the colorful village of Abcoude! Continue your cycling adventure in Holland along the river Kromme Mijdrecht, to the ponds of Nieuwkoopse Plassen, a natural and authentic area to discover. Return to your hotel along the De Meije river.

Day 4 : Nieuwkoop to Utrecht - 50 ou 58 km

For this last day, the bike tour will take you to the walled town of Woerden. Woerden is a charming destination that will appeal to many. There are several sites worth seeing, such as the Saint-Pierre church! You will then proceed to the romantic De Haar Castle near Haarzuilens (not included). End your stay by discovering the beautiful region north of Utrecht.

The bike :

•  Personal bike: We do not recommend bikes with small tires. Hybrid bikes and mountain bikes are excellent. Remember to check your bicycle before setting off. At the end of the circuit, you will have to take care of your bike.
