Cycling holidays around the Gulf of Morbihan, via Carnac and the Rhuys peninsula

You begin your cycling trip in Vannes, a historic medieval city. After a warm-up on the Séné Peninsula and its red sails, you make your first crossing to the other side of the Gulf of Morbihan by bike: Arzon and Port-Navalo. Discover the largest island in Brittany's "little sea," then sail to Locmariaquer, Carnac, and the famous alignments. Auray and its magnificent port, then the Isle of Arz, are the perfect highlights of this cycling holiday in the Gulf of Morbihan.

Day 1: Vannes
Arrival in Vannes. The largest cycling town in the Gulf of Morbihan welcomes you with its medieval setting, between ramparts, cobbled streets, and half-timbered houses. Stroll through the old town and along the harbor, bustling with cafés, restaurants, and shops.

Day 2: Séné Peninsula Loop (29 km)
This first stage takes you to Séné, a charming village stretching across the peninsula of the same name. In Port-Anna, you can admire the magnificent red-sailed rigging for which the village is famous. You cycle through the heart of former salt marshes that are no longer in use but have been converted into a nature reserve. Many birds have made their permanent or temporary home there. Return to Vannes along the harbor.

Day 3: Rhuys Peninsula (40 km)
Meet at the port to board a boat for Arzon, located on the other side of the Gulf of Morbihan. After dropping off your luggage at the hotel, a cycling tour awaits you. You'll visit the ports of Crouesty, Saint-Jacques, Port-Navalo, and the charming village of Sarzeau.

Note: If the crossing is not possible (there are bicycle quotas on the ferry), a 44 km cycle route between Vannes and Port-Navalo is available.
Day 4: Île aux Moines (23 km)
Cycle to the Kerners pier where the ferry awaits you. After a short crossing (about 30 minutes), you'll disembark on the largest island in the Gulf. It is famous for its magnificent beaches and lush flora and fauna. It's a paradise for hikers and cyclists! Return to Port-Navalo by boat.

Day 5: Locmariaquer and Carnac (31 km)
Port-Navalo and Locmariaquer form the gateway to the Gulf of Morbihan. After a 25-minute crossing, you reach Locmariaquer, a charming village. Saddle up to discover the first megalithic sites, including the famous "Table des Marchands." The route continues through La Trinité-sur-Mer. Then cross the Kerisper bridge, from where you can observe the many oyster barges operating on the Crac'h River. Your ride ends in Carnac and its famous alignments, the largest megalithic complex in the world!

Day 6: From Carnac to Vannes (50 km)
This final leg takes you to Vannes. Along the way, you'll visit the lively town of Auray and the magnificent port of Saint-Goustan. Before returning to Vannes, stop in the charming villages of Bono, Arradon, and Le Vincin.

Day 7: Île d'Arz (10 km)
You'll travel to the island of Arz by boat. Don't forget your swimsuit, as it boasts numerous beaches and coves perfect for swimming. The island has been preserved and remains wild. You can admire the authentic Breno tide mill. Return to Vannes at the end of the day.
