Around the Constanz lake in family 
 

This Lake Constance tour offers short distances and includes activities suitable for a wonderful family cycling holiday. Discover Mainau Island, the Stone Age Palafittes village, an amusement park and take a cable car to observe the lake from above to Pfänder Mountain in Bregenz!

Day 1: Arrival in Constance

Delivery of travel documents and handling of bicycles. Take the time to visit the old town or go to the archaeological museum.
Overnight in Constance.

Day 2: Constance - Unteruhldingen / Meersburg 25/30 km

From Constance you reach the flower island of Mainau (included), where you will also find the famous butterfly house. You return from Wallhausen to Überlingen by boat, then cycle to Unteruhldingen.

Day 3: Unteruhldingen - Friedrichshafen, approx. 20/25 km

At the Unteruhldingen Stilt Museum you can discover what life was like on the lakeside in the Stone Age: houses were built over water. You then cycle to the medieval town of Meersburg where you can visit not one but two castles. The day ends by arriving in Immenstaad then Friedrichshafen.

Day 4: Friedrichshafen - Lindau, approx. 30 km

If you haven't visited the Zeppelin Museum yet, we recommend that you do! The road to Lindau is short and you will have time to discover these famous flying ships.

On the route, you pass through Langenargen and its Montfort castle before arriving in the Bavarian town of Lindau whose port is guarded by a 6-meter-high lion!

Day 5: Lindau - Rorschach / Arbon, approx. 40 km

You should take your first break in Bregenz, the capital of the Vorarlberg region in Austria. Take the cable car (Pfänderbahn, included) which takes you to the top of Mount Pfänder and offers you a breathtaking view of the lake. Back on your bikes, you take the direction of Höchst before reaching Rorschach then Arbon.

Day 6: Rorschach - Constance, approx. 40km

The last day of your cycling tour takes you through Romanshorn, home to Switzerland's largest port on Lake Constance. You now continue along the shores of the lake for a return to Constance. You pass in front of many swimming spots where you can stop to cool off in the waters of the Lake. End your stay in style by visiting the Sea-life center in Constance.

Ground :

Flat, very smooth and traffic-free roads and paths, cycle paths.

Weather :

Mild, pleasant temperatures.

Technicality:

- 20 to 40 km of hiking per day, or about 4 to 5 hours of cycling.

- Partly signposted route, map reading desired.

An additional night is offered to you at the start and end of your stay.

Breakfasts: generous (coffee, tea, chocolate, milk, butter, bread, jam, orange juice) or buffet.

The bike :

- Rental bike: 21-speed VTC. It can be picked up from our correspondent in Constance.

 At the end of the tour, you will have to leave the rented bike at the hotel and notify reception.

- Personal bike: We do not recommend bikes with small tires. Hybrid bikes and mountain bikes are excellent. Remember to check your bicycle before setting off.

At the end of the circuit, you will have to take care of your bike.

Assistance:

Assistance in the event of breakdown (except punctures for which we do not intervene).

Luggage:

During the stay, they are transported by a courier or by our team and limited to one piece of luggage per person. (max. 20 kg)

Road book :

The road book with the description of the routes is given to you by post or email before your departure. Our partner on site will give you the vouchers for hotels and restaurants as well as labels for luggage.

- By road: Bregenz is 260 km east of Strasbourg and 230 km from Mulhouse.
- By plane: Zurich Airport, Friedrichshafen, Stuttgart.

Your vehicle:

Possibility of parking with our local correspondent 40 € per week or free parking in town.
