Day 1: Individual arrival in Constance
Take advantage of your day to visit the island of Mainau, stroll through the old town of Constance, visit the Sea
Life Center or even go to the archaeological museum.
Day 2: Constance - Gailingen / Stein am Rhein, approx. 30/50 km
The first stage takes you along the Swiss banks of the Untersee, heading towards Stein am Rhein, a town famous for its medieval town center, one of the most beautiful around Lake Constance. You'll be captivated by its colorful, painted facades, making it a must-visit for culture and history lovers. Depending on your booking category, you can continue a few kilometers downstream to Gailingen, stay overnight in Stein, or cycle towards the charming Höri peninsula, reaching Wangen or Hemmenhofen. Hemmenhofen is renowned for being the home of the painter Otto Dix, while Gaienhofen was once the residence of the writer Hermann Hesse.
Day 3: Gailingen / Stein am Rhein - Ludwigshafen / Überlingen, approx. 40 to 60 km
Today, your cycling journey takes you around the picturesque Höri peninsula, leading you to the spa town of Radolfzell. Be sure to visit the Radolfzell Minster, known for having the tallest church tower around Lake Constance. As you continue, prepare for some hills as you cross the Bodanrück and pass through the charming towns of Bodman-Ludwigshafen and Sipplingen. Following the scenic bike path along the shore of Lake Überlingen, you will arrive in the town of Überlingen. From a distance, you’ll spot the grand St. Nikolaus Minster. Take a leisurely stroll along the five-kilometer lakeside promenade, where you can soak in stunning lake views and enjoy the maritime atmosphere.
Day 4: Ludwigshafen / Überlingen - Kressbronn / Nonnenhorn, approx. 45 to 65 km
Today, your journey takes you along the stunning Obersee, part of Lake Constance. Begin with a stop at the beautiful Birnau Pilgrimage Church, nestled among vineyards. From the forecourt of this splendidly decorated Baroque church, enjoy breathtaking views of the lake. Next, visit the Pile-Dwelling Museum in Unteruhldingen, then explore Germany’s oldest inhabited castle in Meersburg. In Friedrichshafen, be amazed by the largest aviation history collection.
End your day in Lindau’s old town, located on an island. Take in the Alps from the harbor, with the town’s iconic landmarks in the foreground: the Bavarian Lion and the 33-meter-high lighthouse.
Day 5: Kressbronn / Nonnenhorn - Höchst / Rorschach / Horn, approx. 30/55 km
Continuing your bike tour, you arrive in Bregenz, the capital of the Vorarlberg region in Austria. Bregenz is renowned for its annual festival held on the world's largest lake stage, offering an unforgettable cultural experience. After enjoying the sights and sounds of this vibrant city, you'll head towards Höchst. Here, you'll soon cross the border into Switzerland. After a few more kilometers of pedaling, you'll reach the picturesque towns of Rorschach or Arbon, both known for their charming lakeside views and rich history.
Day 6: Höchst / Rorschach / Horn - Constance, approx. 40/50 km
Today’s bike tour takes you through Romanshorn, home to the largest port on Lake Constance in Switzerland. As you cycle along the picturesque shoreline, enjoy the stunning views of the lake and its surroundings as you make your way back to Constance. Conclude your day with a leisurely stroll through the charming old town, where you can admire historic architecture, or treat yourself to a refreshing ice cream at the harbor, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of this lakeside city.
