Day 1: Arrival in Tours
Tours, the capital of Touraine, is bordered by the Loire River. Take the opportunity to explore its historic city center and its half-timbered houses.

Day 2: From Tours to Chinon (60 km)
Walk along the Loire to the Savonnières caves, which you can visit. You will then discover the Château de Villandry and its Renaissance garden, built on 3 levels and unique in Europe. You can also access the architectural treasures of the Château d'Ussé, nicknamed Sleeping Beauty Castle. Your route takes you to Chinon admiring the exceptional panoramas along the river.

Day 3: From Chinon to Saumur (38 km / + 10 km via Fontevraud Abbey)
Start your day by visiting Chinon, a UNESCO World Heritage city, with its royal fortress overlooking the Vienne River. Then, you go along the Loire towards Fontevraud. There you can visit the Royal Abbey which is the largest monastic complex in the West. The abbey, which was built in 1101, was used as a prison in the 19th century but it became a cultural center in 1975. Then direction Saumur and its castle.

Day 4: Montreuil Bellay loop tour (45 km)
The cycling loop between Saumur and Montreuil-Bellay partly follows the Loire à vélo route, crossing the vineyards of the Saumur region. Leaving Saumur, you cycle along the Loire before heading into the rolling countryside, passing castles, picturesque villages, and troglodyte dwellings. On the way to Montreuil-Bellay, you pass through designated wine-producing vineyards. Take the opportunity to visit the Château de Montreuil-Bellay.

Day 5: From Saumur to Angers (59 km)
Cycle along the Loire Valley through typical villages to Angers, capital of the Dukes of Anjou, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover its castle, its gardens and its old town.

Day 6: Angers
End of the tour after breakfast and departure. It is possible to book an additional night in Tours or Saumur. You can also book a train ticket to return to Tours.
