Experience an unforgettable journey in the Moselle Valley by bike, between Trier and Koblenz through vineyards and charming, picturesque villages. The castles and ruins perched on the hills offer you exceptional panoramas of the Moselle. The river passes through France, Luxembourg and a romantic Germany to flow into the Rhine at Koblenz.

Day 1: arrival in Trier

Installation at the hotel in Trier, collection of the bikes and delivery of documents for your stay.
Night in Trier.


Day 2: from Trier to Trittenheim or Neumagen - 40/45 km

This first stage takes place along the Moselle. The Roman heritage of the region is very visible: Villa Rustika, Roman Aqueduct, Roman wine press, Roman ship are on your itinerary.

Night in Trittenheim or Neumagen.


Day 3: from Trittenheim to Traben Trarbach - 50/45 km

Today, the route and the landscapes are marked by the curves of the twisting Moselle. Passing wine villages you reach Bernkastel-Kues. If you want to visit its remarkable castle, do it on foot because it's a steep climb (around 45 minutes of walking). The pretty half-timbered houses, the market square and the Moselle wine museum are also worth a visit. The route continues to Traben Trarbach with the ruins of Grevenburg and the old town.
Overnight in Traben Trarbach.


Day 4: from Traben Trarbach to Cochem - 56 km

The route for this day 4 is a bit of a journey through time: you pass through Bullay (former Roman colony), Bremm (ruins of the Stuben monastery) and Beilstein (ruins of Metternich castle) before arriving at Cochem and its Reichsburg castle whose foundations date back to the year 1000.
Night in Cochem.


Day 5: from Cochem to Koblenz - 50 km

You cycle on the left bank of the Moselle. Today you will have the opportunity to see many castles like Eltz Castle in Moselkern. You continue to the castles of Bischofstein and Hatzenport, then you reach the wine villages Kobern-Gondorf, Güls and finally Koblenz, where the Moselle flows into the Rhine.

Night in Koblenz.


Day 6: Koblenz - optional return to Trier

End of the tour after breakfast. Possibility of taking an extra night in Koblenz or Trier.

Ground :
Flat, very rolling roads and paths. Cycle paths all along the Moselle.
Climate :
Mild sun, a little wind, pleasant temperature.
37 to 60 km of hiking per day, or approximately 3 to 5 hours of cycling.
Easy to follow route, within reach of all cyclists.

Meal :

  • Breakfasts: copious (coffee, tea, chocolate, milk, butter, bread, jam, orange juice) or buffet.
  • Lunches: not included
  • Dinners: half-board option, restaurant at the hotel or near the accommodation.

The bike :


  • Rental bike: 21-speed VTC will be given to you at the first hotel. A security deposit will be required. At the end of the tour, you must leave the rented bike at the last hotel and notify reception.
  • Personal bicycle: We do not recommend bicycles with small tires. VTC and mountain bikes are excellent. Remember to service your bicycle before leaving. At the end of the tour, you will have to take care of your own bicycle (a supplement is requested for the return of your bicycle)


Assistance in the event of a breakdown (except punctures for which we do not intervene).
The return transfer:
The return is by train.
Luggage :
During the stay, they are transported by a courier or by our team and limited to one piece of luggage per person (max. 20 kg).
Travelogue :
We will provide you with detailed maps and a description of the routes when you arrive at the first hotel. We will also provide you with hotel and restaurant vouchers and luggage tags.
Transportation :

By train: TGV and Eurostar station to Trier.
By road: Trier is 430 km east of Paris. A31 between Luxembourg and Nancy or A4 between Paris and Luxembourg and Trier (Treves).
By plane: Metz airport.
Your vehicle:
A parking space is possible at the first hotel by reservation or parking spaces near the hotel. To be booked directly with the hotel and paid on site.
