The Danube is one of the most popular cycle routes in Europe. Embark on an unforgettable bike cruise aboard the Swiss Crown between Passau and Budapest on the Eurovelo 6. Discover 3 countries through breathtaking landscapes between Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest by bike and by boat.

Highlights of the stay:

  • the majestic castles and the superb landscapes
  • Budapest, the Hungarian pearl of the Danube
  • Bratislava and Vienna

Day 1: Passau - Engelhartszell

Boarding time at 4:00 p.m. Located at the confluence of three rivers: the Danube, Inn and Ilz, the city of Passau is to be discovered. Stroll through the old cobbled center and admire the largest Catholic church organ in the world in the cathedral. At 6.30 p.m., cast off!

Day 2: Engelhartszell - Aschach. 42 km

The tour begins with a ride on the Great Loop, one of the most beautiful sections of the Danube. On your way, you come across small villages and cider cellars. In Austria's only Trappist monastery in Engelhartszell, you taste delicious cheeses and liqueurs. The famous "Schlogener View" offers a magnificent view of the surrounding Austrian countryside. The boat awaits you at the charming Aschach market.

Day 3: Devin - Bratislava, 18 to 43 km

You cycle along the old Iron Curtain (Iron Curtain Cycle Route), cross the Green Line and reach the imposing Hof Imperial Palace with its beautiful terraced gardens. Follow the cycle path through Austria's "vegetable garden" to the city of Bratislava, on the slopes of the Lesser Carpathians, and discover hidden alleys and sights on an optional city tour.

Day 4: Budapest / Szentendre, 54 km or free day

The entrance to Budapest, the capital of Hungary, is astounding. Several choices are offered to you during this day. Appreciate the beauty of the city and its best spots via a bus or bicycle tour (with or without a guide) or discover the town of Szentendre with its Mediterranean atmosphere and lively art scenes. Enjoy a nighttime show of traditional music and dance (optional).

Day 5: Danube bend - Esztergom, 43 km

The forested hills of pilis, Visegrad and Börzsöny and the Danube create a magnificent landscape. Discover the idyllic island of Szentendre. You drive through the baroque village of Vac (influenced by the architects of the Austrian Empress Maria Theresia) to the town of Esztergom and its beautiful basilica, the largest Hungarian Catholic church.

Day 6: Vienna (Visiting day, free)

Discover Vienna and its main attractions on a city tour by bike or coach (optional). You will appreciate Vienna's most famous architectures: the Imperial Hofburg, St. Stephens Cathedral, the beautiful Ring Boulevard, the Opera House, the Burgtheater, the Town Hall, and also the colorful Hundertwasserhaus. Unwind in one of the famous Viennese cafes or on dedicated evenings at a classical concert (optional) in one of Vienna's most famous palaces.

Day 7: Wachau / Krems - Melk, approx. 37 km

Your last day of cycling will be special! An imposing ruin appears above the small Baroque town of Durnstein, while the blue spire of the monastery church is a landmark of the renowned Wachau. Among famous towns and villages, vineyards and castles, this hilly landscape enchants everyone.
In WeiBenkirchen (possibility of wine tasting - optional) you will find wine cellars along the cycle path. Make the most of this final evening with a crew show!
