From Sarlat la Canéda to the sacred city of Rocamadour via Les Eyzies de Tayac and Souillac, discover one of the most beautiful sites in France: the Périgord noir.
Cross the Vézère valley and the Dordogne valley by bike to discover the most beautiful villages in France such as the village of Roque-Gageac.
Return to prehistoric times via the greenways to the Lascaux caves. And tasting of the many specialties of the Périgord Noir region because it is also a gastronomic journey.

Day 1: Arrival in Sarlat la Canéda

Sarlat is classified as a city of art and history from the 9th century with its winding streets and its large Benedictine abbey. This medieval city has the highest density of historical monuments classified or registered in the world.
Take the time to explore this exceptional city before returning to your *** hotel for the night.

Day 2: Sarlat - Les Eyzies / 25 km

If you haven't toured Sarlat, you can still enjoy the city before getting on the bikes to start your journey in the Dordogne. Take the opportunity to take a walk in its famous market.
Then join the Vézère valley and Les Eyzies by bike. On your route, you will find many caves, deposits or shelters under rocks.

Day 3: Les Eyzies - Sarlat - 25 to 47 km

 
You have two options:

Short option of 25 km with return to Sarlat via a new route.
47 km long option passing through Lascaux to visit the Lascaux caves.
Return to Sarlat for the night.

 
Day 4: Sarlat - Souillac / 30 to 52 km

 
You leave Sarlat by bike via a greenway on an old railway line along the Dordogne valley to Cazoulès near Souillac. You ride on a safe and easy route through a varied landscape between forests and small villages.
By choosing the long option, you can visit the village of La Roque-Gageac and even reach Beynac or Dommes by bike.

Day 5: Rocamadour loop / 42 km

 
Discover the wonders of Périgord Noir by bike by making this loop to reach the sacred city of Rocamadour, an essential stopover. This medieval cliff-top town overlooks the Alziou canyon. It is also a high place of pilgrimage on the road to St Jacques de Compostela.
In Rocamadour, do not miss the Saint Sauveur basilica, the Saint Amadour crypt and its Notre-Dame chapel which houses the Black Virgin.

Day 6: End of the Dordogne bike trip

 
Your stay ends after breakfast. Don't hesitate to extend your visit by reserving an extra night.

Cycling: 25 to 52 km per day or 2 to 4 hours of cycling per day

The bike :
 
- Rental bicycle: If you rent a bicycle, it will be given to you on the day of your arrival at the 1st hotel. A security deposit will be requested.
At the end of the tour, you will have to leave this bike at the last accommodation and notify reception. We will take care of his return.
We offer specific equipment for children, seats, small hitched bikes and trailers.
 
- Personal bicycle: We do not recommend bicycles with small tires. Hybrid bikes and mountain bikes are excellent. Remember to check your bicycle before setting off.
At the end of the tour, you will have to take care of your own bicycle. If you have rented a bicycle, it will be picked up at the hotel.
 
Assistance:

- In case of bad weather or if you cannot cycle for one day, possibility of a direct journey to the next stage (paid service).
