This cycle route is today one of the best known and most frequented in France and for good reasons! First of all, it is fully signposted, plus the ocean as a backdrop and crossing the beautiful towns of the Atlantic coast will leave you with unforgettable memories. Finally, this is a bike route suitable for everyone, ideal for a family adventure!

Day 1: Arrival in Bordeaux

Transfer to your accommodation in Bordeaux. You will be welcomed in a *** hotel. Delivery of the road book on which your circuit will be indicated.
For your first bike ride, discover the city of Arcachon, its sumptuous Second Empire villas and its churches. Take the opportunity to take a walk along the harbor. You will have the opportunity to explore the entire Arcachon basin, renowned for its oysters and its long beaches surrounded by pine trees, which make it an authentic and unique place on the coasts of France.

Day 2: from Arcachon to Biscarrosse - 40 km

Start this cycle tour towards the famous Dune de Pyla, a key stopover during your stay! You can admire the beauty of the site at the top of its summit. Then pedal under the pines of the Landes forest. Here, enjoy the diversity of landscapes, between ocean, sea and forest. The vélodyssée then takes you to the Landes department. You discover the resort renowned for its waves: Biscarrosse! Enjoy the dynamic atmosphere of the city between kites, syrups on the terrace, frills, aperitifs, markets, rides and shows.

Day 3 : From Biscarrosse to Mimizan Plage - 57 km

Step inland! You will leave the coast to rediscover the blue of the ponds which replaces that of the sea. Discover the Cazaux and Sanguinet ponds, the two largest lakes in France! Then walk along the Biscarrosse and Parentis lakes. This cycle path will take you through the national forest to reach the ocean again at Mimizan (Mimizan Plage)! You will find several attractive beaches which stretch for a total of ten kilometers.

Day 4 : from Mimizan beach to the heart of the Landes - 60 km

Leave the seaside resort of "Mimizan plage" and return to the vélodyssée for a course in the forest. Here is a pleasant and silent stage through the woods embellished by the smells of the pine forest. Take the opportunity to discover the nearby beaches, leaving the track from time to time: "Contis Plage", "St Girons Plage and many others ...
You will end your cycle route in another seaside resort in the Landes.

Day 5 : From the heart of the Landes to Biarritz - 60 km

For this last stage of your cycling holiday on the Vélodyssée, the track leads you into the heart of the forest to discover the emblematic seaside resorts of Hossegor and Capbreton. Take advantage of the great beaches and continue on more urban land as far as “Boucau”. Here you are in a new setting on the Atlantic coast: the Basque Country! Cross Bayonne famous for its feria which takes place every year and which attracts thousands of tourists ... Then reach the famous seaside resort of Biarritz of international renown.

Day 6 : End of the stay on the Vélodyssée

Departure from Biarritz after breakfast.

Possibility of spending an additional night in Biarritz or Arcachon.

30 to 60 km per day, or 3 to 5 hours of cycling.

Meals:

Breakfasts: generous (coffee, tea, chocolate, bread, milk, butter, jam, orange juice)
Lunches: not included
Dinner: half board not offered, but restaurants nearby each evening.

The bike :

Rental bike: VTC or VAE depending on the option chosen. The bike is equipped with a helmet, lock, repair kit, saddlebags, briefcase, etc.

Personal bike: we do not recommend bikes with small tires (minimum 28). Hybrid bikes and mountain bikes are excellent. Remember to check your bicycle before setting off. At the end of the circuit, you will have to take care of your bike.

Assistance:

Assistance in the event of a breakdown (except punctures for which we do not intervene).

Luggage:

They are transported by a courier or by our correspondent, and limited to one piece of luggage per person (maximum 20 kg).

Transport :

- By train from Paris to Bordeaux (around 2 hours).
- By car: around 6.30 hours from Paris to Arcachon, via the A10.
- By plane: Bordeaux - Mérignac international airport.

Your vehicle :

You can park your vehicle at the nearby Indigo car park, for around € 15 per day.
