The Moselle by bike and boat from Saarburg to Koblenz

Day 1: Arrival in Saarburg
You are expected on board from 4 p.m. The boat spends the evening and night in Saarburg. Take some time to stroll around the town. Admire the 20-meter-high waterfall in the city center and admire the many Baroque buildings. Around 6 p.m., the captain and crew will welcome you.
Day 2: From Saarburg to Trier (39 km)
This first cycling leg takes you to the Saar River Bend Nature Reserve. A little further on, you reach Wasserbillig in Luxembourg and then the Igeler Säule, a 23-meter-high Roman column that retraces the exploits of the Secundini family. Trier, where the boat awaits you, is only a few kilometers away.
Day 3: From Trier to Mehring (26-28 km)
After breakfast, saddle up and ride to Pfalzel and then Mehring, today's destination. It is the largest wine-growing area in the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region.
Day 4: From Mehring to Bernkastel-Kues (47 km)
The route takes you to Neumagen-Dhron, the oldest wine-growing town in Germany. After a few more minutes, you reach Piesport, another historic wine-growing village. Take the time to taste local wines along the way. You finish your ride in Bernkastel-Kues. Its medieval market square is charming with its half-timbered houses.
Day 5: From Bernkastel-Kues to Zell am Moselle (43 km)
Ride along the right bank of the Moselle to Traben-Trarbach. The Moselle then becomes more winding until Zell am Moselle. The village is known for its "Zeller Schwarze Katz" wine appellation.
Day 6: From Zell am Moselle to Cochem (38 km)
On the way to Cochem, make your first stop in Beilstein. Its magnificent historic center has earned it the nickname "Sleeping Beauty of the Moselle." The route continues to Cochem, which you can see from afar with its high-perched Reichsburg castle. Its historic old town and half-timbered houses make it a remarkable city.
