Day 1: CATANIA - PALAZZOLO ACREIDE
Your cycling trip in Sicily begins in Palazzolo Acreide with a briefing at your accommodation.
Day 2: PALAZZOLO ACREIDE - MODICA - 52 km
Before starting this cycling stage, take time to admire the historical monuments through the picturesque alleys of the medieval part of the town of Palazzolo. Ride through the heart of the ibleo territory where the landscapes are sometimes wild and bare and sometimes full of vegetation, but always very beautiful.
Day 3: MODICA - POZZALLO - 32 km
Before leaving the town of Modica, an amazing village built on a cliff, you must taste the delicious spicy chocolate and visit the beautiful 18th century church of San Giorgio. A bike ride along a typical iblei quarry leads you to the town of Scicli. You can visit the center with the large Piazza Italia, monuments and other impressive buildings such as the church of St. Bartholomew, overlooking a rocky landscape of changing colors. After this visit, the bike tour in Italy continues to the center of Pozzallo.
Day 4: POZZALLO - PORTOPALO DE CAPOPASSERO (45 km)
This stage by bike will take you to the Isola delle Correnti, the most remote point of the continent, between the Ionio Sea and the Mediterranean Sea, at the same latitude as Tunisi. On the way, you will have the chance to taste the wonderful "Vino D'Avola" in one of the many wine cellars.
Day 5: PORTOPALO - MARZAMEMI - NOTO (35 KM)
The itinerary begins on flat ground and gradually climbs northward, passing through the unspoiled natural oasis of Vendicari, an area of great scientific interest with many varieties of flora and fauna. The bike trip in Sicily continues northward and ends in the city of Noto, the capital of the Baroque.
Day 6: NOTO - SYRACUSE (35 km)
After tasting the almond "granita" with buns, pride of the baroque capital, and admiring the many churches and palaces, you will cycle along the coast to Syracuse, capital of Magna Grecia.
Day 7 : SYRACUSE
Your day begins with a visit to the charming city of Syracuse, known for its ancient ruins. You can visit the archaeological park of Neapolis where the Teatro Greco, a Roman amphitheater and the Orecchio di Dionisio stand. Do not miss the charming little island of Ortigia, the historical and cultural center of the city, separated from the city by a canal. You can also see the Temple of Apollo, the Dome which is the result of the successive transformations made to the grandiose temple of Athena and the Fountain of Arethusa.
Day 8: End of the bike trip in Italy
After breakfast, departure and end of the tour.
