Day 1: Arrival in Bordeaux

Arrive in Bordeaux, settle into your hotel, andvisit the city on your own. Experience an unforgettable escape in the world’s wine capital, home to the renowned Cité du Vin, the majestic Gothic Cathedral, and a UNESCO-listed historic center brimming with architectural wonders, charming wine bars, gourmet brasseries, and vibrant squares.

Overnight in Bordeaux.

 

Day 2: From Bordeaux to Lacanau (67 km)

Leaving Bordeaux, you'll follow a scenic bike path through the woods, leading you to the ocean. Once a railroad line, this now-rehabilitated greenway offers an immediate escape from the city, providing a peaceful ride all the way to Lacanau. Take the opportunity to explore the charming seaside resort of Lacanau, and enjoy a well-deserved break at one of its many delightful restaurants or cafés.

Overnight in Lacanau.

 

Day 3: From Lacanau to Arcachon (via Cap-Ferret boat - 53 km)

A delightful stretch of the La Vélodyssée® cycle route, where dunes and forests create a scenic backdrop for your journey. Occasionally, you'll leave the bike track to explore paths that lead to the sea, offering beautiful vistas of the ocean. Your ride will take you to the Cap Ferret peninsula, a haven for food lovers, where you can indulge in the renowned oysters of the Arcachon Basin. After a refreshing stop in the heart of the Gironde peninsula, enjoy a boat ride to Arcachon, adding a new dimension to your adventure.
Overnight in Arcachon.

 

Day 4: From Arcachon to Biscarosse Plage (48 km)

A short but highly rewarding stage. You'll start by cycling along the stunning beaches of Arcachon and La Teste de Buch, then take on the climb up the Dune du Pilat. Afterward, you'll pedal through the Landes forest on La Vélodyssée, before arriving at the lovely town of Biscarrosse.

Day 5: From Biscarosse Plage to Mimizan Plage (41 km  )

A bike ride through the Landes forest, where the scent of pine, the chirping of crickets, and the shade of towering trees create a peaceful stopover. Take time to relax by the Lac de Parentis or the Etang d'Aureilhan, enjoying a bite to eat and exploring a variety of water sports activities.
Overnight in Mimizan.

 

Day 6: From Mimizan to Vieux Boucau or Messanges (60 or 68 km) 

This stage follows the flat Landes coast, with plenty of opportunities to stop at the region's beautiful beaches. Along the way, you'll pass through the surf towns of Contis Plage and Moliets et Maa, where you can enjoy a meal and take a swim.

Overnight in Vieux Boucau or Messange .

 

Day 7: From Vieux Boucau or Messanges to Biarritz (61 or 62 km)  

The final step of your journey takes you from the Landes to the Basque Country. Bayonne is a must-visit stop, offering a chance to explore Basque culture as you wander through the charming narrow streets of its historic center. Then, head to the stunning city of Biarritz, where you can unwind and enjoy the sights. For the best experience, we suggest leaving your bikes at the hotel and exploring Biarritz on foot. 
Overnight in Biarritz.

 

Day 8: Biarritz

The tour ends after breakfast, with departure. You can book an extra night in Biarritz or Bordeaux, or arrange a private transfer or train ticket to Bordeaux.

Meals:

  • Breakfasts: buffet
  • Lunches: not included
  • Dinner: half board not proposed, but restaurants nearby each evening.

 

The bike :

  • Rental bicycle : If you rent a bicycle, it will be given to you on the day of your arrival at the 1st hotel. At the end of the tour, you will have to leave this bike at the last hotel and notify reception. We will take care of his return. We offer specific equipment for children, seats, small hitched bikes and trailers.
  • Personal bike : We do not recommend bikes with small tires. Hybrid bikes and mountain bikes are excellent. Remember to check your bicycle before setting off. At the end of the tour, you will need to take care of your own bicycle.

 

Assistance:
Assistance in the event of a breakdown (except punctures for which we do not intervene).

 

Luggage:
They are transported by our team, and limited to one piece of luggage per person (maximum 20 kg).

 

Return :

By minibus or train: We will give you the timetables. Support for luggage and bicycles. (on request, other prines on Sundays and bank holidays).

 

Roadbook :

We will provide you with a travel booklet by e-mail and post before your departure, as well as access to our GPS application. We will also provide you with hotel and restaurant vouchers and luggage tags.

 

Transport :

  • By train from Paris to Bordeaux (around 2 hours).
  • By car: around 6.30 hours from Paris to Arcachon, via the A10.
  • By plane: Bordeaux - Mérignac international airport.
