The Vélomaritime in Brittany: from Roscoff to Paimpol via the Pink Granite Coast
From Roscoff, set off to discover breathtaking landscapes: white sand beaches, turquoise waters, pink rocks, picturesque ports, monuments with a very Breton charm, salty air... everything is there to spend a revitalizing cycling holiday in Brittany. It is also an opportunity to visit the incredible island of Bréhat, wild and preserved.
Highlights:
- Roscoff, Perros-Guriec, Paimpol, Morlaix and Tréguier
- Wild and steep coastline
- Pink Granite Coast
- Island of Bréhat
Day 1: Roscoff
Arrival in Roscoff. Stroll along the port, stroll to the lighthouse, visit the Ste-Barbe chapel at the tip of Bloscon and enjoy this city with its unique atmosphere.
Day 2: from Roscoff to Plougasnou (58 km / + 525 m)
This first stage begins on small roads that run along the Baire de Morlaix. Offshore, you can see the many islets of the ornithological reserve as far as Plougasnou.
Day 3: from Plougasnou to Lannion (43 km / + 375 m)
This second day of cycling takes place along the vast, steep and wild coast. Stop off at one of the many sheltered coves that you will come across along the way. And if you feel like it, swim in the (relatively cool) waters of the English Channel.
Day 4: from Lannion to Perros-Guirec (54 km / + 340 m)
Cycle towards Trébeurden, a small seaside resort with beautiful fine sand beaches. The route continues inland towards Pleumeur-Bodou with its impressive Radôme and Saint-Samson with its charming chapel. You then reach the Pink Granite Coast and its impressive colours. Between Trégastel, Ploumanac'h and Perros-Guirec the coast offers a remarkable landscape between white sand beaches and pink rocks.
Day 5: from Perros-Guirec to Tréguier (48 km / + 680 m)
This stage takes place along the gorse coast. Towards Port-Blanc, there are small beaches, jagged points, strings of rocky islets and lunar foreshores. Let yourself be surprised by the astonishing House between the rocks at the tip of the Château. Arrival in Tréguier, "Small City of Character", is by going up the Jaudy estuary.
Day 6: from Tréguier to Paimpol (41 km + 280 m)
Discover the wild peninsula of Lézardieux, wedged between the Jaudy and Trieux rivers. At the end of the peninsula, the Talbert furrow, a 3 km long strip of sand and pebbles, stretches out towards the sea, offering a remarkable landscape.
Day 7: Bréhat Island on foot or by bike
Boarding for the island is from the Pointe de l'Arcouest. You can get there by bike or bus. If you want to visit the island by bike, we recommend renting a bike on site (not all companies accept bikes, those that do only do so at certain times and the price of the ticket is as expensive as renting on site).
Bréhat Island is a little paradise where the landscape changes with the tides. Nicknamed the flower island, it is surrounded by pink granite islets and has a unique ambiance and atmosphere. Return to Paimpol.
