Belgium by bike

The other land of bike and cycling holidays

Spending a cycling holiday in Belgium is a very good experience. Like its Dutch neighbor, the benchmark in this area, the country is ahead of France in terms of cycling infrastructure. Belgians are used to traveling by bicycle for work, to do their shopping or to go on vacation. There are also more km of cycle paths in Belgium than in France, even though the country is 20 times smaller!

Bruges, the North Sea and Flanders by bike

La Bicyclette Verte has selected the region of West Flanders as the preferred destination for cycling. This Flemish region is the only Belgian region in contact with the sea. Its capital, Bruges, nicknamed the "Venice of the North" or "the Romantic", offers an impressive cultural and architectural heritage. Ypres and Diksmuide are also places to visit if you are in the area.

The world famous local beer is also a good reason to "visit the country". There are nearly 250 breweries in Belgium, so many excuses to take a break! You can also take the opportunity to taste other local specialties such as the famous Belgian fries and chocolate. Suffice to say that after all that you will have enough energy to pedal!
