Departing from Lausanne, it all begins with a boat crossing towards Yvoire and the French shores of the lake. The sweetness of life is present on every street corner. Take the time to taste a glass of wine in one of the many restaurants which offer breathtaking views of the lake and the Alps. The route, romantic and idyllic, is an invitation to stroll and let go. Remarkable cities like Geneva, Lausanne, Évian-les-Bains or Nyon enhance the itinerary with their remarkable heritage.

 

In summary, it is an elegant journey that awaits you between remarkable cities, relaxed lifestyle, well-preserved castles and vineyards. All with the blue waters of the lake and the white Alpine peaks as a backdrop.

Day 1: Arrival in Lausanne
Arrival in Lausanne at your leisure. Enjoy your free time to admire the beautiful cathedral, stroll through the iconic neighborhoods, or visit one of the city's many museums.

 

Day 2: From Lausanne to Évian-les-Bains 🚢 | From Évian-les-Bains to Yvoire (30 km / +250 m)
This first leg begins with a boat trip to Évian-les-Bains. The Jura mountain range comes into view as you approach the French shores of the lake. Along the way, you'll find numerous opportunities for swimming. You'll reach Yvoire, a remarkable medieval town.

Overnight in Yvoire.

 

Day 3: From Yvoire to Geneva (30 km / +120 m)
Cycle towards Switzerland. Authentic villages and charming harbors will enchant your day. You'll arrive in Switzerland via the village of Hermance. Geneva is not far now. It's a global diplomatic and banking center where French influence reigns. The city is striking for the contrast it offers between tradition and modernity.

Day 4: From Geneva to Nyon (45 km / +330 m)
You quickly leave the city and find yourself along the Jura mountain range, overlooking the shores of Lake Geneva. The quiet country roads reveal a splendid view of the lake and the peaks of the Mont Blanc massif. Your journey ends in Nyon, a village near Prangins. In both villages, remarkable castles are well worth a visit.

Day 5: From Nyon to Lausanne (45 km / +280 m)
Today you travel along the peaceful shores of Lake Geneva, in an elegant setting of characterful residences and meticulously landscaped beaches. This stage offers an atmosphere that is both gentle and refined. Gradually, the route climbs slightly, leading you towards the vineyards overlooking the lake. You'll pass through the lively town of Morges before quickly reaching the promenade of Lausanne. The Olympic capital, Lausanne is home to the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee and boasts top-quality sporting facilities. The Olympic Museum, dedicated to the history of the Games, is a must-see to further explore the city.

Day 6: From Lausanne to Montreux (35 km / +510 m)

A highlight of this tour awaits you. Lined with dry stone walls, dotted with numerous wine cellars, and offering spectacular panoramic views, cycling through the Lavaux vineyards is one of the most beautiful cycling experiences in Switzerland. The route then descends towards the shores of Lake Geneva. You'll follow the lake, passing through Vevey, before arriving in Montreux, enjoying its elegant, lakeside atmosphere. Depending on your preferences, the tour can be extended to the famous Chillon Castle, a jewel of local heritage.

Day 7: Montreux
End of the tour after breakfast. Extend your stay with one or more additional nights.

Travelogue :
A link to a mobile application allows you to access all the information necessary for carrying out the circuit. A paper travel diary is given to the first hotel.

 

The bike :

  • Rental bike: VTC with 27 speeds or VAE. If you rent a bicycle, it will be given to you upon your arrival. A security deposit will be required. At the end of the tour, you will need to leave this bike at the last hotel and notify reception. Our correspondent will take care of his return.
  • Personal bicycle: We do not recommend bicycles with small tires. VTC and mountain bikes are excellent. Remember to service your bicycle before leaving. At the end of the tour, you will need to take charge of your own bicycle.

  • Train: approximately 4 hours from Paris (via Bourg-en-Bresse and Geneva)
