The Flow Vélo represents a cycle path that runs along the "most beautiful river" of France, La Charente. But yes, you know! If I tell you: Hermionne, La Fayette, Les demoiselles de Rochefort ... and yes it is there.
1996, It is the year when we crossed this river for the first time and the paths were already quite passable. A wonder punctuated by curiosities, historic and famous cities like Saintes or Cognac.
Come on, we'll take you there.
La Bicyclette Verte offers several circuits to discover this cycling route. Between La Rochelle and Cognac or Angoulème and Rochefort (soon available), we offer the best, in our opinion, of Flow cycling. Leave in peace in charming hotels and guesthouses and make the most of your cycling trip. We have identified each end of the cycle path, each small road and each curiosity to offer you a bicycle route suitable for everyone: with family, friends or couples.
The Flow Vélo begins in Dordogne in Thiviers. The route then joins Angoulème and the Charente, which it will not leave until the mouth of the river between Port-des-Barques and Fouras.
From the gates of the Atlantic Ocean in Charente-Maritime to the Périgord vert, enjoy the peace and quiet on the banks of the Charente river.
Begin your cycling trip by visiting La Rochelle, its old port and its medieval towers and Arcades. You continue on Rochefort: large maritime arsenal in the 17th century (built by Colbert in 1666). Rochefort is today the home port of the Hermione, an authentic replica of the La Fayette frigate (18th century) and its three masts. The Corderie Royale is certainly the most impressive monument in the city.
Go back to antiquity via Saintes on the way to St Jacques de Compostelle then cycle through the vineyards to Cognac, city of art and history. You will reach Angoulême, capital of the comic strip to end your stay in Nontron, known for its art of cutlery in the Périgord vert!
