Free cycling trip on the Vélo Francette

I have just found the maps which enabled us to do this journey in 1994. The promotion of this circuit was made by taking the hoteliers who made up this circuit to the Netherlands for a presentation of this bicycle trip to tour operators. Remarkable journey of great moments!

The name Francette bike did not exist and the road (the same) skirted the Thouet valley, a treat! Maybe better than the Loire by bike but less famous. It deserves, it's not big ribs but fake dishes ...

It is a cycle trail achieved in 2015. It starts in Ouistreham and finishes in La Rochelle. The Velo Francette has been elected in 2017 "Cycle Trail of the year" by a deutsch association. Many reasons lead to this title. First, the diversity and beauty of landscapes is surprising. Then, the quality of housing makes the difference. Indeed, the cycle paths and signalisation are satisfying.

Loire, Thouet and Marais Poitevin by bike

We well know this cycle trail as our buildings are on the route, in Arçais. We have developped two tours inspirated by the Velo Francette : "from the Loire to the Marais" and "from the Marais to La Rochelle". Those two tours are never far from a watercourt. The quality of housing hide some good surprises.
