Day 1 - Arrival in Clifden in Ireland
Arrive in Clifden, the 'capital of Connemara', to begin your stay. Discover the city, its culture, its traditional music, its picturesque streets, its pubs and its restaurants. Your bikes and equipment await you at your accommodation. Enjoy an evening in this friendly, lively and warm city where everyone knows each other.
Day 2 - From Clifden to Renvyle - 45 km
Begin your cycle route on the Sky Road from Clifden to the Renvyle Peninsula. The Sky Road takes you to the edge of Connemara and offers you breathtaking views of the rocky Atlantic coast. You then pass through Connemara National Park, in the village of Letterfrack, where you can put down your bike and stroll along the hiking trails. Arriving on the Renvyle Peninsula, you will be enchanted by this rugged landscape that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean and is home to a community of fishermen and farmers.
Day 3 - From Renvyle to Leenane - 25 km
From the Renvyle Peninsula you visit the pretty village of Tullycross with its traditional thatched cottages. Then you continue to Kylemore Abbey. This Gothic-style castle was built in 1867 and has one of the most beautiful gardens in Ireland. As you leave Kylemore, you will experience the majestic Twelve Bens mountain range as you pass beneath its impressive peaks. Killary Harbor, Ireland's only fjord, appears alongside you after a bend. You will spend the night in the small village of Leenane, nestled under the mountains of Maumturk.
Day 4 - From Leenane to Westport - 55 km
You follow the shores of Killary Fjord, then you pass County Galway to County Mayo and before joining the Delphi Valley. Once densely populated, today only a few houses remain. This void showcases its rugged beauty and spectacular views. You then cruise along Doolough Lake to the coastal town of Louisburgh. In Louisburgh, take a break to take in the gentle pace of life in a small farming town in the west of Ireland. Following the Coastal Road once more, along the shores of Clew Bay, you reach Westport. The sacred mountain of Croagh Patrick offers an impressive panorama, spend an evening exploring this vibrant city on the last day of your trip to Ireland.
