This first stage takes place along the Moselle. After passing through Schweich, let yourself be guided along the meandering Moselle River. Along the way, you will encounter vestiges of the Roman era : rustic villas, aqueducts, ancient boats, and Roman wine presses, all tell the history of the region. Following the loop of the Moselle towards Trittenheim, you then reach the charming villages of Trittenheim or Neumagen-Dhron, where you will spend the night. During the day, you’ll have the opportunity to taste local wines (if the tasting does not take place today, it will be arranged at another estate).
Overnight in Trittenheim or Neumagen.
Day 3: from Trittenheim or Neumagen-Dhron to Traben Trarbach (50 / 45 km)
Passing wine villages you reach Bernkastel-Kues. From the bike path, admire Landshut Castle on the right bank (a 45-minute walk away) and the charming half-timbered houses of Kues. Don't miss the market square, the Moselle Wine Museum, and, for history buffs, the Neolithic site. Your route continues to Traben-Trarbach, with the ruins of Grevenburg Castle and the old city wall.
Overnight in Traben-Trarbach.
Day 4: from Traben-Trarbach to Cochem (56 km)
Following the Moselle, you will pass through Bullay with its Roman ruins, Bremm with the ruins of Stuben Monastery, then Beilstein, nicknamed the “Rothenburg on the Moselle”, and the ruins of Metternich Castle. Your day ends in Cochem, the main town of the Moselle, where its restored old town and Reichsburg castle, founded around the year 1000, immerse you in the region’s rich history.

Day 5: from Cochem to Koblenz (50 km)
Following the left bank of the Moselle River, you pass through the small villages of Klotten, Pommern, and Treis-Karden. In Moselkern, don't miss Eltz Castle, a true medieval gem. Passing the castles of Bischofstein, Hatzenport, and Thurant, you reach the wine-growing villages of Kobern-Gondorf and Güls.
