The Lake Route takes its name from the multitude of lakes that it reveals along its route, from Lake Geneva to Lake Constance. It takes you through some of the most splendid tourist regions of Switzerland, while allowing you to discover several renowned cities such as Vevey, Gruyères, Gstaad, Interlaken, Lucerne and many others. This route offers the opportunity to appreciate the most beautiful panoramas of Switzerland during a single stay!

Day 1: Arrival in Vevey
Arrival at your leisure. Nestled between Lake Geneva and the terraced vineyards of Lavaux, Vevey offers an elegant and peaceful atmosphere. In the heart of the Swiss Riviera, it is a lovely starting point for the Lakes Route by bike.

Day 2: From Vevey to Gruyères (40-50 km / +600-855 m)
Following quiet roads, you'll reach the region of origin of Switzerland's most famous cheese, Gruyère, which lends its name to this verdant landscape. An encounter with the ringing of church bells and local customs awaits you.

Day 3: From Gruyères to Gstaad - 40 km / +735 m
The quintessential Swiss experience: picturesque cheese dairies, traditional chalets, snow-capped mountains, funiculars, and magnificent paper cutting masterpieces showcasing local craftsmanship. The Pays-d'Enhaut region and the village of Saanen offer splendid mountain scenery and warm encounters.

Day 4: From Gstaad to Spiez (53 km / +385 m)
The ornate wooden houses of the Simme Valley are among the most beautiful in Europe. You'll also explore the turbulent waters of the Simme River, a real challenge for inflatable boat enthusiasts. Finally, you'll reach Spiez and Lake Thun, a true paradise for water sports enthusiasts.

Day 5: From Spiez to Lake Sarnen (60 km / +1,450 m)
In the morning, enjoy a boat trip from Spiez to Interlaken. Following the shores of Lake Brienz, the route includes some steep climbs to reach Meiringen, where you'll board a train that crosses the Brünig Pass. You are now in Obwalden, a small canton nestled in a vast valley, offering a pristine pre-Alpine landscape with scattered villages, lakes, and centuries-old traditions.

Day 6: From Lake Sarnen to Lucerne (35 km / +240 m)
For this final leg, you head towards Lucerne and the vast Lake Lucerne (Lake of the Four Cantons). After a few kilometers, you catch sight of Mount Pilatus, which rises to over 2,100 meters. The route is pleasant and allows you to fully appreciate the lake. Upon arrival in Lucerne, enjoy the charming old town with its cobbled streets, painted houses, and lively squares. At its heart, the Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke), an emblem of the city, spans the Reuss River and offers a unique glimpse into local history through its ancient paintings.
