Saint Malo and the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel by bike

Cycling trip between land and sea, from Brittany to Normandy departing from Saint Malo. This bike tour is ideal for learning about cycle tourism with its flat terrain and captivating landscapes. You reach one of the world's architectural marvels: Mont Saint-Michel.
You ride on the Vélomaritime route that connects the English Channel to the North Sea, an exceptional and recognized route that is also part of Eurovelo 4.

Highlights of the stay:

  • The bay of Mont Saint-Michel
  • Saint Malo
  • Discovery of the Vélomaritime
  • The port of Cancale and oyster tasting

Day 1: Saint-Malo - Saint-Suliac - 36 km

This first cycling stage in Brittany invites you to discover one of the most beautiful villages in France: Saint-Suliac. From the Saint-Malo countryside, you follow the Rance, a river that draws its strength from the tides. Enjoy unique landscapes around the village of Saint-Suliac.

At the start of your trip, you will meet a guide for a time of discussion in order to bring you the latest practical advice and answer all your questions.

Day 2: Saint-Malo - Cancale - 27 km

You leave the corsair city of Saint Malo to reach the port of Cancale crossing the countryside before returning to the seaside. You can admire the beautiful malouinières, house of Saint-Malo shipowners from the 17th and 18th centuries. In the evening, put your bike on the quays and take the time to taste the famous oysters.

Day 3: Cancale - Mont Saint-Michel - 48 km

This bike tour in Brittany invites you to discover an architectural marvel of this world! You alternate between small country roads and the seaside on a mostly flat course. Halfway through, you pass at the foot of Mont-Dol. Stop for lunch at the foot of this foreign rock in the middle of these flat marshes. After the break, you will drive a few more kilometers through the salt meadows before reaching the one and only Mont Saint-Michel. Make the extra effort on foot to reach the famous abbey.

Day 4: Mont Saint-Michel, Normandy loop - 35 km

Today, take to the skies by riding on the small Normandy roads to appreciate the grandeur of the bay of Mont Saint-Michel on the Vélomaritime route. The journey takes you to Roche Torin. This place exudes a unique, almost mystical atmosphere, with a privileged view of Mont Saint-Michel.
