Cycling trip between land and sea, from Brittany to Normandy departing from Saint Malo. This bike tour is ideal for learning about cycle tourism with its flat terrain and captivating landscapes. You reach one of the world's architectural marvels: Mont Saint-Michel.
You ride on the Vélomaritime route that connects the English Channel to the North Sea, an exceptional and recognized route that is also part of Eurovelo 4.

Day 1 - SAINT-MALO

Welcome to Saint-Malo, a historic city and the largest port on the Emerald Coast. Before or after dinner, we invite you to climb the ramparts and explore the Intra-Muros city. This short walk will allow you to fully appreciate the powerful imprint of this city. Hotel★★★ 

 

Day 2 - SAINT-MALO to COMBOURG - 300m ascent - 66km

Start your day by boarding the Compagnie Corsaire speedboat from Saint-Malo for a short cruise through the mouth of the Rance. You'll reach Dinard by boat, where you can pedal past magnificent 19th-century villas. Then follow the greenway, built on a former railroad line, to the port of Dinan. After lunch in the old town, continue your itinerary through romantic Brittany and explore its charming villages. End your day in Combourg, where the château evokes a few legends. Day 3 - COMBOURG to SAINT-BRICE-EN-COGLES - 494m ascent - 50km

Pedal through the Breton countryside, crossing the Villecartier forest to reach the Petite Cité de Caractère of Bazouges-la-Pérouse. Enjoy the view from the village overlooking the surrounding countryside, then descend to Antrain to join an old railroad line that has been converted into a pleasant greenway. This cycle path will take you all the way to Fougères, but today you'll be stopping off in the small commune of Saint-Brice-en-Coglès. Hotel Restaurant★★★- dinners included

 

Day 4 - SAINT-BRICE-EN-COGLES, BOUCLE DE FOUGERES - Between 197m and 301m ascent - Between 40km and 55km

From the charming village of Saint-Brice-en-Coglès, cycle to an old railroad line. The magnificent "voie verte" takes you all the way to Fougères, a town of art and history, proud of its identity. Take time to stroll through its narrow cobbled streets to fully immerse yourself in its past. Hotel Restaurant★★★- dinners included

 

Day 5 - SAINT-BRICE-EN-COGLES to MONT SAINT-MICHEL - 252m ascent - 55km

Today's itinerary takes you cycling around the border between Brittany and Normandy. Pass through the small Normandy town of Saint-James, famous for its woolen navy sweaters, then pedal on to Ducey, a charming little village with a wealth of natural and heritage attractions. Finish your day cycling along the Sélune, a river that flows into the bay of Mont Saint-Michel. Hotel★★ 

 

Day 6 - MONT SAINT-MICHEL to CANCALE - 95m ascent - 48km

Enjoy this beautiful day's cycling, alternating between small country roads and seaside cycle paths. The route is flat today, along the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel by bike. Halfway along the route, take a break at the foot of Mont-Dol, a strange rock in the middle of the marshes. It's the perfect place for lunch. After the break, continue cycling through the oyster farms to reach the pretty port of Cancale and its oyster market. Hotel★★

 

Day 7 - CANCALE to SAINT-MALO - 142m ascent - 27km

Leave the port of Cancale to reach the corsair city today. Enjoy a beautiful bike ride through the countryside and along the seafront, passing by some beautiful malouinières. The Emerald Coast dazzles a little more this day with the radiant colors offered by the sea. Hotel★★★ 

 

Day 8 - SAINT-MALO

Meals :


Breakfast : generous (coffee, tea, chocolate, milk, bread, butter, orange juice, jam). Lunches and dinners not included.

 

The bike :

 

Rental bicycle : if you rent a bicycle, it will be given to you on the day of your arrival at the first hotel. A security deposit will be requested. At the end of the tour, you will have to leave this bike at the last accommodation and notify reception. We will take care of its return. 
We offer specific equipment for children, on request.

 

Personal bike : we do not recommend bikes with small tires. Hybrid bikes and mountain bikes are excellent. Remember to check your bicycle before setting off. At the end of the tour, you will need to take care of your own bicycle.

 

Assistance :


Our team is available to help you out, except in the event of a puncture for which we do not intervene.

 

Luggage :


It is transported by a courier or by our team and limited to one piece of luggage per person (max 20 kg).

 

Travel documents :


We will provide you with detailed maps and route descriptions when you arrive at the first hotel. We will also provide you with hotel vouchers and luggage tags.

 

Transport :

 

By train: SNCF TGV to Saint Malo, about 3 hours from the Gare de l'Est in Paris. For more information on timetables, you can consult the SNCF.
By road: A11 and A81 motorways. Paris is 418 km from Sant Malo.
