Short stay in the heart of the Burgundy vineyards by bike


We offer you a wine cycling trip around the city of Beaune through the vineyards. During this weekend in Beaune you will discover two winegrowing coasts: Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. 
Cycle at your own pace through the heart of vineyards with the prestigious names of Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, Pommard, Meursault.


Highlights of the trip : 

  • oenological discoveries with tasting of famous wines
  • landscapes of southern Burgundy
  • picturesque villages

Day 1 - Arrival in Beaune

 

You will be welcomed at your hotel for the handing over of the travel booklet and some practical information for the good progress of your cycling trip in Burgundy.
Dinner is not included but feel free to ask our local partner for some advice. 
Night in Beaune. 


Day 2 - Cycling in the vineyards of the Côte de Nuits ~35 km

 

After a good night's sleep, start your day with a continental breakfast before cycling!
You will then be able to enjoy the Beaune market, full of colors and flavors!
Your bike ride starts on the Voie des Vignes north of Beaune towards the Grands Crus of Corton and Corton Charlemagne. You will then continue your wine exploration in the vineyards of the Côte de Nuits. You will have the pleasure to cross the famous wine villages of Vosne Romanée, Vougeot (with its Château Clos de Vougeot), Chambolle Musigny, Gevrey Chambertin. Return by train to Beaune at the end of the day. 
Overnight stay in a hotel.


Day 3 - Cycling in the vineyards of the Côte de Beaune ~30 km

 

After breakfast, you will ride at your own pace on the wine roads south of Beaune, in the middle of the vineyards. You will discover the picturesque villages of Pommard and Volnay, the kingdom of Pinot Noir. The return trip takes you through the famous vineyards of Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet, charming villages that produce the best white wines in the world from the Chardonnay grape. Return to Beaune at the end of the day. Overnight stay in the same hotel.


Day 4 - End of the tour around Beaune by bike

 

Departure after breakfast. Feel free to book an extra night to enjoy the area.

Terrain :


Mostly flat terrain with only a few hills. You will ride on small paved vineyard and country roads, as well as on bicycle paths. No or very little traffic.

 

Climate:


Pleasant, little precipitation, localized rainfall.
Spring : 15/20°C - Summer : Hot and dry 25/30°C

 

Technicality :


15 to 30 km of riding per day, about 2 to 3 hours of cycling.
Itinerary easy to follow.

Additional nights : 


An extra night is offered at the beginning and end of your stay.

 

Meals :

 

Breakfasts: copious (coffee, tea, chocolate, milk, butter, bread, jam, orange juice) or buffet.
Lunches : not included
Dinners : not included


Bicycle :


- Rental bike: 24 speed VTC which will be given to you upon arrival. Possibility to rent an electric bike on request.  A deposit will be required.

The rental bikes are always delivered to the hotel, they include a repair kit, a lock, a smartphone holder, a rear bag and a front bag and a helmet (recommended). 

At the end of the tour, you will have to leave the bike at the last hotel and notify the reception. We will take care of its return.


- Personal bike: We do not recommend bikes with small tires. Mountain bikes are excellent. Remember to check your bike before you leave.
At the end of the tour, you will be responsible for your own bike.

 

Assistance :


Assistance in case of breakdown (except for flat tires for which we do not intervene).

 

Luggage:


They are transported by a courier or by our team and limited to one piece of luggage per person (max. 20 kg).

 

Travel book :


We will provide you with detailed maps and a description of the itineraries, upon arrival at your first hotel. 

 

Transportation : 


- By train: Beaune train station is a 15-minute walk from the hotels, regional trains from Dijon to Beaune. 
- By road : Dijon is on the A6 (Paris-Lyon) at 315 km from Paris.


Parking in Beaune : 

 

Some hotels have parking facilities. Contact us for rates. 

The city of Beaune offers free parking and secure paid parking. 

 

 

Cancellation insurance :


In order to guarantee the reimbursement of expenses in case of cancellation of your stay, you can take out cancellation insurance.
