The Swiss Jura by bike, from Belfort

DAY 1: Belfort or the territory of the Lion
Arrival in Belfort and installation at the campsite. Belfort is full of cultural riches which make a must-see destination in eastern France! You can relax at the
swimming pool of your campsite, and take advantage of the seasoned suggestions and unusual anecdotes of our local hosts. Handling of bikes and overnight stay at the Belfort *** campsite.
DAY 2: Belfort to Courtelevant (30 km)
In the morning, you will enjoy the exceptional setting of Belfort and visit its citadel and its fortifications deemed impregnable. You will be able to see the famous Lion, elected favorite monument of the French, which has watched over the city for more than 130 years.
We recommend that you visit the Belfort History Museum, housed in the old barracks, in the heart of the citadel. A lion hunt is also possible on a circuit
discovery of Belfort, so put on your best sneakers! On request, the cards you will be provided by the Belfort accommodation.
After lunch, you begin your first stage by bike to Courtelevant, where you spend the night at a local lodge. A stopover in the heart of the cultural heritage of common.
DAY 3: Courtelevant in Porrentruy or nearby (15 km)
After breakfast, an animation “From wheat to bread” is planned at the mill. Courtelevant. Here you can learn and practice kneading, shaping and cooking
local bread over a wood fire, and you will leave in the afternoon, with your own production artisanal! A picnic is possible at the mill at noon for around € 7 (to be paid on square).
You will then continue your journey to finally cross the Franco-Swiss border and arrive in the capital of the Prince-Bishops: Porrentruy.
Overnight in Porrentruy in a local and unusual farm, where you experience the art of accommodation on the straw (possibility of accommodation in a charming guest room in proximity depending on availability).
DAY 4: Porrentruy to Courcelon via Saint-Ursanne (35 km)
In the morning, a visit to the Fruits and Distillation Museum is scheduled in Porrentruy, during which you can taste products such as apples
local or even Damassine (local alcoholic drink).
After the visit, a train transfer from Porrentruy to Saint-Ursanne is planned. For the more courageous, you can climb to the Col des Rangiers by bike (accessible to all by bike electric), which will offer you a breathtaking view of the region's landscape.
For lunch, we recommend a picnic on the banks of the Doubs, during which you can enjoy an exceptional setting surrounded by nature. You will have the opportunity to bathe there, weather permitting.
On your arrival in Saint-Ursanne, you can download the free Drallo application from your smartphone that will allow you to discover the city and meet the valiant knight Godefroy who defends the medieval city of the city. It is also possible for you to travel the “secret circuit” of Saint-Ursanne, by obtaining information from the on-site tourist office, open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Once the visit of Saint-Ursanne is over, a second train transfer is scheduled and you will drive to Glovelier, from where you will end your cycling stage of the day until Courcelon.

DAY 5: Courcelon to Delémont, then return to Belfort (10 km or more)
After breakfast, a visit to the local Courcelon farm is planned. You can shop for souvenirs in the small shop full of products local and regional specialties. You then cycle to Delémont, where a visit of the Jura museum is planned. You can, if you wish, visit the city with the free Drallo application to download to your smartphone (in the same way as for the visit of Saint-Ursanne on day 4).
Your luggage will be transported by accommodation from Courcelon to Delémont so that you can take your luggage back to Belfort by train.
Return by train to Belfort at the end of the afternoon and overnight at the Belfort *** campsite.
DAY 6: Cycling loop from Belfort or end of the circuit
End of services after breakfast. If you wish, you have the possibility to complete various cycling routes from Belfort, on the advice of our local partner (Doubs Valley, Doller Valley, Giromagny, Malsaucy Lake, the Coulée verte and Montbéliard, Brebotte and Montreux with the view of the Vosges ...). We you recommend that you notify the Belfort campsite on day 1 according to your choice of route to bike because transfers by vehicle can be considered.
It is possible that the animation "From wheat to bread" in Courtelevant is not open on your dates of stay, or that you do not wish to attend this event. In that case, we offer you a variant for the program of days 2 and 3:
DAY 2: Belfort to Boncourt (28 km)
In the morning, after breakfast, you will visit the citadel of Belfort and will be able to see Lion. A visit to the Belfort History Museum is also possible, as well as a lion hunt in the city (see program for day 2 above).
After lunch, you cycle to Boncourt, where you will do your second overnight stay in a charming guest room.
DAY 3: Boncourt to Porrentruy (26 km)
More commonly known as the "Ajoie tour", you will continue your journey by bike on a part of loop 646. Between Boncourt and Porrentruy, you will be amazed by the territorial riches of Buix, Lugnez, Bonfol and the fame of its ponds, Vendlincourt or even Coeuve. For a route of about 26 kilometers, you have the possibility to go to Largin, where the zero kilometer trail is located, which is no other as the way to WWI.
Between Vendlincourt and Coeuve, you pedal on a new agricultural path with very little traffic. A slight climb can be observed on this section, however it is very short and it is possible for you to get off the bike if it is too difficult.
On your arrival in Porrentruy, you will make the secret circuit of the city. A garage secure to leave bikes is provided.
We advise you, at the end of this tour, to visit the watchmaking foundation, where you will be immersed in the promotion and protection of the Jura watchmaking heritage.
End of the stage in Porrentruy and overnight in a local farm with accommodation on the straw.
