Day 1: Passau - Engelhartszell
Boarding at 4:00 p.m. The city of Passau is located at the confluence of three rivers: the Danube, Inn and Ilz. Explore the old city center and go admire the world's largest Catholic church organ in the cathedral. At 6.30 p.m., the Fortuna leaves for Engelhartszell!
Day 2: Engelhartszell - Aschach / 42 km
The route begins with a ride on the great loop, one of the most beautiful parts of the Danube. On your way, you pass small villages and cider cellars. In Austria's only Trappist monastery in Engelhartszell, you can taste delicious cheeses and liqueurs. The famous "Schlogener View" offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding Austrian countryside. The Fortuna awaits you at the Aschach market.
Day 3: Devin - Bratislava / 18 to 43 km
Your bike route starts along the old Iron Curtain (Iron Curtain Cycle Route), you cross the Green Line to the imposing Hof Imperial Palace with its beautiful terraced gardens. Follow the cycle path through Austria's "vegetable garden" towards the city of Bratislava, on the slopes of the Little Carpathians, and cross hidden alleys and sights on a stroll through the city.
Day 4: Budapest - Szentendre / 54 km or free day
The entrance to Budapest, the capital of Hungary, is impressive. Admire the beauty of the city and its most beautiful spots by bus or bicycle tour (with or without a guide) or discover the town of Szentendre and its Mediterranean atmosphere with its vivid art scenes. You can attend a night show of traditional music and dance (optional).
Day 5: Danube bend - Esztergom / 43 km
Enjoy an exceptional landscape around the wooded hills of Pilis, Visegrad and Börzsöny and the Danube. You pass through the baroque village of Vac to the town of Esztergom and its beautiful basilica, the largest Hungarian Catholic church.
Day 6: Vienna - free day
Discover Vienna during a city tour by bike or by coach (optional). You can admire the most famous architecture of Vienna:
- the imperial Hofburg
- St. Stephens Cathedral
- the superb Boulevard Ring
- the opera house, the Burgtheater
- City Hall
- the colorful Hundertwasserhaus.
Relax in a Viennese café or take the opportunity to attend a classical concert (optional) in one of Vienna's most famous palaces.
Day 7: Wachau - Krems - Melk / approx. 37 km
Your last day on the bike will be special! An imposing ruin rises above the small Baroque town of Durnstein, the blue spire of the monastery church is a landmark of the renowned Wachau. Among renowned towns and villages, vineyards and castles, this hilly landscape is enchanting.
In WeiBenkirchen (possibility of wine tasting - optional) you will find wine cellars on your way. Make the most of this final evening with a crew show!
Day 8: Passau
Take full advantage this morning of the peaceful silence of the Danube Valley on the bridge. Admire the great loop one last time before arriving in Passau.
